The Austin Forum on Technology & Society presents:
From Tech Idea to Technology Impact: Creating Successful Tech Companies That Matter
Gordon Daughtery, Harold Ingersol, Kirk Cesari, Ashley Stroud Phillips
Austin is rich in technology talent and has a creative, innovative culture. Our workforce + culture breeds tech startups and powers a huge, innovative tech sector. Innovation and entrepreneurship are now badges honor in Austin, just as musical and artistic creativity have long been. Immersed in Austin, chances are you’ve wondered how we support so many new tech companies, and maybe even wondered how that spirit translates to innovation in more mature tech companies.
Many of you have probably had ideas for new technology products or services—or are at least curious about new innovations and companies you hear about. How does one transform a great idea into a successful tech company? What does one have to learn about business plans, funding, finances, and intellectual property? How does one make a tech company not only successful, but truly matter? Come hear our experts share information that can help you create a startup with maximum opportunity for success–information that could also enhance your existing company’s ability to innovate and create.
Admission to the Austin Forum is always free.
The Austin Forum accepts donations of used smart phones, tablets, and computers at all our events. Since the events are no online, please let us know via the ‘chat’ window during the event if you have devices to donate. All devices will have a factory reset and be set up as new by the team at Austin Pathways’ nationally-recognized “Unlocking the Connection” initiative, which will connect every public housing resident with a digital device, digital literacy, and a free or very low-cost internet connection. Your donated devices can change lives and help close Austin’s digital divide, thanks to Austin Pathways.
