The CyberTexas Foundation has Formed a Partnership with EPIC to Extend the Reach of Cyber Resources and Opportunities Throughout Texas
EPIC is proud and excited to partner with the CyberTexas Foundation to develop the CyberTexas Foundation website into a full service cybersecurity resource hub for Texas teachers and students.
EPIC’s mission is to broaden participation in K20 computing pathways through research, outreach, professional development and policy advocacy. To achieve this mission, we partner with school districts, institutions of higher education, industry leaders, and federal, state and local government entities who are also dedicated to expanding access and opportunity for traditionally underrepresented students in computing.
The goal of EPIC and WeTeach_Cyber is to build the capacity of teachers and schools to offer rigorous, industry-standard experiences in cybersecurity education to high school students that will prepare them for careers in the cybersecurity field.
WeTeach_Cyber has three core objectives:
- Creating and deploying curriculum aligned to state and NICE K-12 standards
- Training teachers in both the fundamentals of cybersecurity and in how to teach cybersecurity
- Designing and scaling up access to the EPIC Cyber Range as a tool for teachers and students to practice the skills needed to successfully achieve CompTIA Security+ certification
EPIC produces a bimonthly Cybersecurity newsletter with Cybersecurity news, resources, lessons, and college spotlights.
