Bobby Blount is a Department Head within MITRE’s National Security Engineering Center Federally Funded Research and Development Center. Bobby is responsible for the technical execution and delivery of over 70 staff years of work across a diverse set of sponsors. In this role he is responding for finding solutions to the Department of Defense’s hardest cyber and information technology (IT) challenges. Bobby has also led several MITRE initiatives bringing the company staff and other resources to provide technical and engineering support to city governments. In this role, the MITRE team resolved problems in and redesigned city governments’ emergency, IT, and court case management systems.

Community Involvement

Bobby has received national, state, and local awards and recognitions for support of community efforts and initiatives.  His recent awards include the Del Toro Public Relations Champion award and the South Texas Youth Soccer Award for support to refugee youth.  He currently serves in board leadership capacity on the Northside Independent School Board of Trustees (106,000 students), YMCA, San Antonio Area African Community Fund, Go Public Campaign, several athletic organizations, the Texas Solar Car Races and the Department of Energy San Antonio Regional Science Bowl Competition.

Education

Bobby received his JD from George Mason University, his MS from St. Mary’s University, and his BS from the United States Air Force Academy.
